“You could but they would have to be three states away.” He grunted, turning off onto their exit and coming to a stop at the light. His face was stern while looking forward. Jeff would be able to figure out his love life, the kid really did have a good heart in there. One in which Cerberus would rather their cousin get the hell out of this line of work now before he got himself buried in the Angelo drama. “Sorry.” Taking a breath he looked to his sister, the only way a brother could when he was seeking her advice.

“Holiday and family aside. I’m scared of this stupid court date. Is there anythin’ ya can do with Caine or Graham?” He didn’t want to lose his son or want the boy’s mother back in their lives. If anyone could twist the local law enforcement it was Lin. Maybe Ruby but he didn’t know how involved Graham and Ruby really were. 

“ I’m not sleeping with either one of them if that’s what you’re asking.” she knew he wasn’t, but she was trying to make light of the situation. Though it wasn’t a light situation at all - it was a horrific one to be in. “I’ll do what I can, get you a slap on the wrist and nothing else. That kid isn’t going anywhere, Cer. And if by chance it comes to that – you know I’ll fight like hell to put that kid in my custody. That way he’s not really gone, right?  He’ll be with me. But you won’t have to worry.” 

And she’d make sure she pulled every string she could to make sure that she could keep her promise to her brother. “Though I have to ask – what were you thinking getting into a fight with Remulus? What did he say that you had to just take it outside and throw hands like that? He has nothing to lose – you do. So what did he say?”

“Do I know this guy or is one of the ones you kept away from me?” Cerberus grunted almost at the thought of getting one from this guy that owed her a favor. “We cloud always ask Kolt for one. He’s a thief.” And sold things at a fair price for the clubs. 

“Get him a date with Diana and I am sure that boy will love you for life.” He teased, knowing of the crush. The whole club was aware of the crush, and gave him shit for it. 

“I think ma would kill you on that front.” He smirked to himself, knowing other would be so pissed. And those lingering court dates were coming from that fight with Cai. 

He got silent quite quick with his mouth tightening as they drove on in a small silents. Worry tugged at his brows bringing them down as his he gas. 

“ I can have guys you don’t know about.” she smirked, even gave a brow wiggle. “No, I’m not asking Kolt. It’s not that I don’t trust him, it’s just I have a guy. I can talk to my guy. We’ll get the thing.” She’d wave her hand dismissively before laughing. 

“ I can get him a good table at a place, but I can’t get him the date. He has to get that on his own. Just because I’m a girl doesn’t mean I fully speak ‘girl code’.” And as much as she’d like to get that for her cousin there was no chance. Faye maybe, but she couldn’t. 

“ Then we won’t tell her that I have one of those accounts.” She muttered with a laugh, but as he got silent she stared at him for the moment. When he seemed to suddenly get worried she got worried. “Cer…?” 

But him hitting the gas had her yelling. “ What the hell?! ” 

Jeff‌:

“Hey, I can’t help who I am related too.” Jeff was completely teasing here, knowing that she could either slap the shit out of him or laugh. “Lee ain’t that bad of an ex and you know it. The guy we are running things for, that’s one bad mate right there.” 

Finnick was crafty, and here was something shady in the man’s eyes, that mad Jeff just think twice about things. Like the club, the move to the states, and having a stigma attached to his name even by people who didn’t really know him.

“Well. In your brother’s defense here. We are dumb guys at times and do really stupid shit.” Jeff was aware of Ana being back in town, had seen her several times around Cai and his gang. 

A smirk had crossed Jeff’s face trying to now figure out a way to get to talk to Faye. “Reminds me.” He reached into his car with an letter like envelope. Even if they were being watched he was careful to make it look like a letter that needed to be mailed, address, stamp, and all. “ Lee’s payment. He needs more coupons by the end of the week.” Talking in code had become second nature to him. 

“ Ain’t that the truth.” she laughed, giving him another nudge. Though as he mentioned Lee , Lin shrugged her shoulders. “ Hey, I didn’t date the guy. Would I like to date him? No. Would I like to get him in bed? I’d not turn him down - assuming he bought me dinner first.” Though she was being flippant , even if she was sounding serious. But it’s been a good long while since Lin had been with anyone and she wasn’t looking. 

As Jeff went to Cer’s defense, Lin patted his shoulder. “ Here’s an idea, you want to get and keep the girl – get smart. “ She’d pat his cheek in a loving but condescending way. But that’s just how she was with her friends and family, mostly her family. Mostly Cer and Jeff.  

As he handed her the envelope, she looked down at it and she would tuck it in her jacket. “I’ll see what I can do.” and after she made sure that no one was around, Lin stopped and smiled. 

“Have you considered just getting the girl flowers, by chance?”
